The plasma cutting technique separates material through the thermal and mechanical action of a beam of gas that has been heated to an extremely high temperature (30.000°C). The gas is heated using a DC electrical arc, which is established between an electrode on the torch and the metal being cut. The plasma beam injected against the metal penetrates the entire thickness of the piece being worked, melting and expelling the material. This technology is applicable for working any type of conductive metal, especially structural and stainless steel.
